Am I American for not liking the Superbowl?

I hate football and the Superbowl. I can't stand it. People say I'm not American for it and need to go back to my Communist country. Yet, funny thing is, I was born in Ohio and still live here. Is this really a trait people MUST have to be American? Or is it just another social idiosyncrasy?
