Why may elevated CO2 in the atmosphere not yield higher growth rates in plants?

I don't understand. Plants feed off CO2, so CO2 naturally helps plants -- naturally. And, because elevated levels of CO2 help plants grow, the resulting plant growth gives human beings more O2.
