Halloween outfit?

me and my boyfriend are doing this thing for halloween where we are dressing up kind of like the music we listen to. sounds stupid i know but its a long story, but anyways im dressing up as an british guy. kind of something musically like arctic monkeys,beatles, kooks, athlete, stuff like that. the english/brit alternative rock. so far i thought about wearing a sweater vest type thing. what do you think would be best as that? i need help. colors/specific clothings pieces/patterns pictures would be really helpful. thanks!
