So do you consider this unprofessional treatment at a hospital? & where to report?

Well this is the thing... the sad truth is that the vast majority of folks who present to the hospital with headaches and such with no verifiable disorder are drug addicts who want to get a script. The hospitals are exhausted with them. Last heart attack my mom had, the nurses kept having to apologize to us she wasn't getting all the care they really needed to give her because the hospital was full of addicts trying to get their fixes, and they weren't allowed to turn them away without checking out the remote possibility they were really sick. A CAT scan really should have shown up any serious problem.. but it sounds like to me you have a chronic sinus infection. The ER isn't the place to go, you should have gone to an Urgent Care and would have gotten better treatment. BUT the ponytail story seems a bit overboard, and I would suggest you call the hospital administrator's office. That is where all complaints should begin. They can get the ER records and look them over and review the notes. They will call in the nurse practitioner and question her and so on.
